2023 Acura Integra Preorders Predominantly Manuals

Good news for enthusiasts.

Preorders for the all-new 2023 Acura Integra opened up earlier this month, and so far, it's looking like the fifth-gen Teggy will have plenty of enthusiast support, given the vast majority of preorders placed thus far opt into the six-speed manual transmission.

According to a recent report from the fine folks at MotorTrend, a whopping 70 percent of 2023 Acura Integra preorders include the three-pedaled setup, as confirmed by Acura Sales Assistant VP Emile Korkor.

This is, of course, great news for enthusiasts. Manual transmissions are relatively hard to come by these days (looking at you, fifth-gen Toyota Supra), so perhaps the potential success of the three-pedaled 2023 Acura Integra will encourage other automakers to follow suit.

That said, these are just preorders, and may not be indicative of the final split between manual-takers and CVT-takers when the 2023 Acura Integra finally hits the road. Either way, it's encouraging to see, and may justify Acura's appeal to the enthusiast crowd. After all, as MotorTrend points out, the Integra nameplate has enjoyed a 56-percent take rate for the manual transmission through its history.

To note, the 2023 Acura Integra's six-speed manual is only offered with the go-fast A-Spec trim level, while a CVT is standard. The manual trans option also includes a limited-slip differential, while customizable adaptive dampers can be had via the A-Spec's Technology Package.

With regard to the powertrain, the new Integra is mechanically related to the 2022 Honda Civic Si, cradling the same turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder L15B7 gasoline engine. Output is rated at 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque, all of which reaches the ground through the front wheels.

Look for the 2023 Acura Integra to hit dealers in the spring. Pricing will start around $30,000.
