Two doors, junk in the trunk.
The all-new 2023 Nissan Z made its grand entrance last month with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 producing 400 horsepower. Now, one digital artist is reimagining the seventh-generation Z as a sexy two-door shooting brake in the following renderings.
Coming to us from automotive designer Sugarchow (@sugardesign_1), the new renderings give the 2023 Nissan Z a substantial visual overhaul, all without deviating too far from the original factory lines. While every one of the Z's seven generations has had some kind of rear hatch section, this new concept takes things to another level with a full shooting brake layout.
Full disclosure - we here at Tuner Fan are suckers for hatchbacks and wagons, so it should come as no surprise that we're a bit smitten by this 2023 Nissan Z shooting brake concept. The front end is familiar, with a fascia treatment that matches the production model. However, the roofline is extended to create a significantly taller rear end, falling back into the rear bumper at a steep angle. The rear fenders continue to enhance the Z's tail-weighted proportions, balancing aggression and sportiness with what we can only imagine to be greatly expanded rear cargo room.
Unfortunately, there's a snowball's chance in hell the seventh-gen Nissan Z will be anything other than a coupe and convertible, which is a shame. But who knows - maybe some enterprising custom body shop will have the courage to turn this concept into a reality. Here's to hoping.
