Digging into the specs, stats, and facts.
The 2023 Nissan Z is undoubtedly one of the most hotly anticipated vehicles of the year, replacing the nearly 15-year-old Nissan 370Z with a fresh seventh generation. Now, Tuner Fan is taking a walk around the new Japanese sports car, diving into the specs, stats, and facts with the following exclusive video.
Recently caught in downtown L.A. at a pop-up car meet hosted by Auto Conduct and Larry Chen, the 2023 Nissan Z brings new styling inspired by the Proto Z concept car that debuted last year. Although concepts tend to diverge heavily from the final production model, Nissan stayed true to the original design study with this one, making only a few minor changes.
A variety of customization options are offered, with this particular example covered in two-tone exterior paint that matches Seiran Blue with a black roof. This model is also equipped with 19-inch forged Rays wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires, which are offered as standard on the Performance trim. Details include larger red calipers and a functional rear spoiler.
Under the skin, the 2023 Nissan Z rides on a modified version of the FM platform that underpins the current 370Z, running double-wishbone suspension in front, and a multi-link in the rear. Notably, the new Z shares the same Z34 chassis code as the 370Z, which may tell you something about the level of changes that Nissan implemented with the seventh-gen model.
As for the power specs, the 2023 Nissan Z is motivated by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 producing 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Interestingly, this is the same VR30DDTT V6 equipped by the Infiniti Red Sport 400. Boost pressure in the Z tops out at 14.7 psi.
