Acura Releases Anime Featuring Type S Lineup

NSX, Integra, TLX, and MDX, all animated.

Acura has released a multi-part anime series featuring the brand's Type S Performance lineup, including the NSX, TLX, and MDX, plus cameos by the DC2 Integra and next-gen 2023 Integra.

The anime is titled Chiaki's Journey, and tells the story of a young driver seeking to sharpen her skills in pursuit of victory on the race track. The daughter of a legendary racing driver, Chiaki teams up with her uncle Noboru to beat rival driver Erich Kang in an epic showdown at the Long Beach Grand Prix.

The series is broken into four parts, each clocking in at 60 seconds. The animation is quite good, and shows each Acura vehicle in beautiful detail.

Notably, the 2022 Acura NSX Type S plays a starring role. For those who may have missed it, the new NSX Type S is the final model for the second-generation NC1, offering unique features like revised styling and aero, wider tires, retuned suspension, more power, and less weight, all of which yield lap times around Suzuka that are 2-seconds quicker than the standard 2021 NSX . Production is limited to just 350 units.

The series also includes several teaser shots of the recently revealed 2023 Acura Integra prototype. In the opening episode, a 2023 Integra is seen up on a lift, with the license plate reading "65PDMT," providing further confirmation that the new Teggy will offer a six-speed manual transmission. The production 2023 Integra is expected to launch next year, priced at roughly $30,000.
