Drug Dealer Had A Taste For Toyota Supra, Tuner Classics

The cars were seized and now up for auction.

Some folks get their rush from breaking the law, while others prefer boost. As it just so happens, it looks like one former drug dealer dabbled in a bit of both, as evidenced by an enormous car collection seized by police that includes a wealth of tuner classics, including no less than 13 pristine examples of the Mk. IV Toyota Supra. Now, those cars are up for grabs at auction.

Back in 2020, reports indicate that police arrested 41-year-old Cory Taylor after discovering 138 pounds of weed in his van during a traffic stop. Follow-up investigations uncovered a large drug trafficking operation that led to the seizure of some 37 vehicles, including tuner classics like the Toyota Supra, Honda S2000, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, Nissan 350Z, Acura Integra Type R, and BMW M3. In addition to the impressive car collection, the cops also seized several weapons and more than $4 million in cash.

As the story goes, Taylor disappeared after posting bail. Several weeks later, his body was discovered in an abandoned building in Holyoke. The official cause of death is still listed as "undetermined."

Now, nearly 30 of the seized vehicles are listed for auction by Stanley J. Paine Auctioneers. The final price for all these beauties remains to be seen, but considering just how valuable the Mk. IV Toyota Supra has become as of late, the total could be quite high indeed.

For those readers who may be unaware, well-kept examples of the Mk. IV Toyota Supra now regularly trade hands for six-figures - for example, in 2021, a 1995 Toyota Supra with 6,571 miles on the clock sold at auction for $201,000. We'll have to see what these seized vehicles will go for, but as of this writing (5/12/2022), one of the Supras is already listed with an early top bid of $155,000. The auction will officially commence on-site at the Orange, Massachusetts, municipal airport in June.
