Get The JDM Engine Of Your Dreams With These Scale Models

Impressive detail, right in the palm of your hands.

When it comes to JDM engines, everyone has their favorite - Toyota 2JZ-GTE, Honda B-Series, Nissan RB26DETT… the list goes on. Now, enthusiasts can put the powerplant of their dreams right into the palm of their hands with these slick 1:4 scale models.

On offer from DBS Works, a one-man operation based out of Madrid, Spain, these replica JDM engines are 3D-printed using CAD modeling techniques, then assembled and painted by hand. The end result is a highly accurate and flat-out awesome-looking scale model, with tons of cool details stuffed into every nook and cranny.

DBS Works offers a number of JDM engines, such as the three listed above, as well as a slew of Honda powerplants, including the C-Series, D-Series, H-Series, F-Series, and K-Series.

DBS Works also offers custom orders, with the option to add in things like big turbos, superchargers, individual throttle bodies, unique paint, exposed cam gears, intercoolers, new manifolds and more. And, if you're the sort of enthusiast that loves tuner stuff (we think 'ya might be), DBS Works does that as well, with engines customized with parts from HKS, Tial Sport, Precision Turbo, Mugen, and Spoon, among others.

Alternatively, if you enjoy the build process, DBS Works offers DIY kits that include all the pieces needed, ready for assembly and paint. Or you can grab some scale model JDM wheels, such as the Enkei RPF1, Mugen M7, and Volk TE37.

Pricing varies, with fully assembled engines going for about 100 euros to 150 euros ($114 to $171 at current exchange rates, 2/16/2022). Custom pieces up the price, while the DIY kits are 60 euros to 76 euros ($68 to $86 at current exchange rates).

Check out all the JDM awesomeness at the DBS Works website and the DBS Works Instagram feed, and make sure to stick around for more tuner car goodness right here at Tuner Fan.
