Sacrifice for your ride.
For many enthusiasts, the Mk. IV Toyota Supra is the ultimate tuner car, offering voluptuous '90s-era styling, legendary turbocharged six-cylinder power, and the sort of street cachet usually reserved for top-shelf exotics. It should come as no surprise then that a man in Sydney, Australia recently used his own body to shield his silver Supra from damage during a hailstorm.
Per a brief video originally posted to TikTok by user jakemcgloin, the Toyota Supra in question is covered in a blanket and sections of cardboard to protect the roof and rear end, but the front end remains exposed to the falling chunks of ice. As such, Mcgloin throws himself on top of the extended hood and front fascia to shield the precious metal from Mother Nature's wrath.
According to the owner, his efforts were not in vain, as his Toyota Supra remained undamaged by hail once the clouds had cleared.
While enthusiasts will undoubtedly commiserate, there's a financial aspect to this story as well. Back in July, a pristine 1995 Toyota Supra went up for auction with just 6,571 miles on the clock, fetching more than $200,000. Indeed, keeping his ride dent-free may be the best investment this owner could make.
