The Drift League Round 2 - Photos

Sliding for the big leagues.

Earlier this month, a squad of slideways warriors converged on Willow Springs International Raceway to do battle in the final round of the The Drift League's 2021 season. When the smoke had finally cleared, Jon Shaffer stood triumphant, wheeling the No. 926 Nissan 240SX to victory against Aaron Parker in the No. 300 Mazda RX-7, with RJ Contreras grabbing third in the No. 12 BMW 325. All three of the top drivers were rewarded with a cut of the $3,000 cash purse and a Formula Drift license.

However, the story The Drift League Round 2 goes a lot deeper than the three drivers standing on the podium. Like the heroic efforts of Richard Advani and his team to fix the No. 74 Chevy Corvette's suspension and make it to qualifying after crashing in practice. Or the epic tandem battle between Devyn Bloch in the No. 31 Nissan 240SX and Daniel Albrecht in the No. 117 BMW 325 for a spot in the Top 8. Or the challenging track configuration that put more than a few competitors into the wall around Outer Zone 4.

Indeed, The Drift League is where the dream of slinging through the big leagues of Formula Drift finally begins to crystalize - or shatters like a polyurethane body kit against a concrete barrier. Tuner Fan was on the scene to capture all the drama, and now, we're serving it up in the following mega photo gallery. Click through all the tire-killing photos below to relive the highlights, the thrills, and the bumper-cracking spills, and make sure to stick around for even more coverage via Tuner Fan's upcoming video content.
