Assuming you don't replace the motor oil with BBQ sauce or park under the ocean, Hondas are, for the most part, pretty reliable. Now, we have rolling proof with this million-mile 1991 Honda CRX Si.

For those readers who may be unaware, the Honda CRX is an absolute gem of a tuner car, in particular the Si model. Frequently enlisted for autocross duty due to its double-wishbone suspension, sub-2,200-pound curb weight, and expansive aftermarket support, not to mention low cost, the CRX was a top choice among '90s-era enthusiasts and early import tuners.

When new, the naturally aspirated 1.6-liter four-cylinder D16A6 engine under the hood made 108 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 100 pound-feet of torque at 4,800 rpm, spinning the front tires to 60 mph in about 8 seconds. While not exactly mind-blowing by modern standards, those were healthy numbers back in the day, especially for a car as lightweight as the Honda CRX. Add just a few extra ponies, and you'd feel it.

But there was another thing about the Honda CRX that made it special - reliability. Treated right, you could expect it to go the distance. Even a million miles.

This particular 1991 Honda CRX Si is evidence of that, racking up a whopping 1,002,474 miles over the course of three decades. And it doesn't look too worse for wear, either. It even has its original engine, five-speed manual gearbox, and interior.

Now, this H badge is sitting pretty in the showroom at Tampa Honda in Florida. According to the dealer's Facebook page, the previous owner brought it in for service in 2015, but now, the hatch looks like it's taking a breather. Well-deserved, if you ask us.
